Hello Guys” Today I am here to share information about Top 10 Largest Nuclear Tests Ever Conducted till 2017 with you. The first atomic weapons test was conducted near Alamogordo, New Mexico, on July 16, 1945, during the Manhattan Project, and given the codename Trinity. As we all know about the impact of any Nuclear Bombs on the life of people.

Nuclear Tests is very dangerous and hazardous for the human life.  However reality is that many countries are still did the tests. The main reasons for the tests were to check their nuclear weapons and its impact or destructive power. When country passed the tests were considered as strong and nuclear power country. Any country is not allowed to use any nuclear weapon during any war in general. But it is just a way to tell the countries that they are also strong and they can use their powers at any time.

Japan is only country whom get attacked with the Nuclear Bomb by United States of America (USA). USA dropped 2 bombs known as Fat Man and Little Boy on Hiroshima and Nagasaki of Japan. This happens during World War II in 1945.

Nuclear Weapons are very dangerous and risky to handle. A nuclear weapon is very explosive device and it derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions. Some scientists estimate that if there were a nuclear war resulting in 100 Hiroshima-size nuclear explosions on cities.  It could cause significant loss of life in the tens of millions from long term climatic effects alone.

Types of Nuclear Weapon tests:

Nuclear test are classified into four categories. These are classification done on the basis of place, location, usage etc.

  • Underground

It is a type of test which is conducted on very depth of earth’s surface. These test are mainly conducted by USA and Soviet Union around 1965. It is because at that time rest types of the test are baned by the Limited Test Ban Treaty.

  • Underwater

As it is cleared with the name these test is conducted in the water. Generally it is done to assess the impact of these weapons in the water.

  • Atmospheric

This testing designates explosions that take place in the atmosphere. Generally these have occurred as devices detonated on towers, balloons, barges, islands, or dropped from airplanes, and also those only buried far enough to intentionally create a surface-breaking crater.

  • Exoatmospheric

This testing refers to nuclear tests conducted above the atmosphere. The test devices are lifted on rockets. These high altitude nuclear explosions can generate a nuclear electromagnetic pulse (NEMP) when they occur in the ionosphere, and charged particles resulting from the blast can cross hemispheres following geomagnetic lines of force to create an auroral display.
