In a welcome move, the new passport rules has done away with the mandate requiring names of each oldsters at the time of application. an human currently only must give the name of either one amongst the parents or the legal guardian. This makes it easier for kids with single oldsters or orphans to use for a passport. Provisions have also been created for spiritually minded individuals (Sadhus/Sanyasis) who will currently mention the name of their spiritual leader rather than their biological parents.

The total number of annexes has been bought down from 15 to 9. Annexes A, C, D, E, J, and K are removed and a few of them have also been merged. Lesser annexes means that less trouble for you to collate documentation.

While all annexes required attestation from a Notary/Executive official/First category Judicial Magistrate previously, henceforth of these annexes will currently be within the type of a self-declaration from the human on plain paper. this may spare you all the running around for attestation that you just would have had to try and do previously.

The need for a marriage certificate has been discontinued (along with annexure K). Also, just in case of a divorce the human won’t be needed to produce the name of their better half. this is often another interesting change that has been created taking into thought changing social group norms.
