The scholarship helps students of lower financial standards to achieve their goals by studying the course of their choice. Our Government has taken a great initiative in providing scholarship to help students to the maximum. Funds are allocated by the government for the scholarship for proper funding of students.
The types of scholarship offered to the OBC category of students are categorized as below:
This type of fellowship applies to students of OBC category who wish to pursue their higher studies in the field of research like M. Phil or Ph.D. The fellowship offers a scholarship to 300 applicants with 2 years of scholarship for JRF and continues for 3 years for SRF in their research field. The scholarship amount varies from 25,000 for Science field from 10,000 for Social science field for the initial years and later increases. The scholarship also includes medical, HRA and leave allowances for the students.
Central Scheme Sector for National Overseas
This scheme favors the students who wish to pursue their Ph.D. and masters in abroad countries and the scholarship amount includes visa fees, allowance for the journey, local travel, medical and airfare. Female candidates are offered 30% allocation by this scheme and favor students of Medical, Engineering, Management, and Agricultural science. 3 years scholarship is offered for Ph.D. students and 4 years for students pursuing masters.
The pre-matric scholarship offers a scholarship to students who wish to pursue their studies in the pre-matric stage. The schools should be either government schools or private school authorized by the respective authorities. The contribution of the Central government for this scholarship is nearly 50% and Rs 500 is received by the students every month as a stipend.
The post-matric scholarship offers a scholarship to students who wish to pursue their studies in the post-matric stage and finish their studies. This scholarship is sponsored by the Central Government completely and offers Rs 750 per month for day scholars and Rs 350 per month for hostellers.
The ONGC – Oil and Natural Gas Corporation offers the scholarship to students in their first year of graduation or post-graduation. The scholarship is offered to 1000 eligible students and the stipend amount is Rs 4000 per month.
The Government of Delhi offers the scholarship to students from class 6th to 12th and also to professionals to finish their studies. The stipend amount varies from Rs. 1620 to Rs 4,500 per month for eligible students.
This initiative by the Government benefits students to help pursue their studies and get placed in good companies and earn a fortune.
