Payment Online/Offline, Due Date and Rebates – BBMP Property Tax Karnataka
Property tax is the most important source of revenue to Urban and village Local bodies for carrying out development activities in the respective area.

How to pay property tax in Karnataka?
The BBMP has introduced an online method to pay property tax; this facility is available to the residents of Bangalore. The people owning a property in Bangalore and residing in another state, city or district is still required to pay property tax and can do this through an online portal.
The online payment of property tax in addition to BBMP is only available in Belagavi City Municipal Corporation. Before paying the tax the property owner has to find out the tax amount. Online calculators are made available by the urban development department for easy and correct calculation of the tax amount.

Procedure for paying the property tax online
Step 1: Visit the official portal of BBMP property tax payment – https://bbmptax.karnataka.gov.in/
Step 2: On the home page on the right-hand corner you will find a box titled “SAS property Tax payment”, here enter SAS application number or PID – property identification number by selecting the same from the extended menu. Both the numbers can be found on the property tax receipts of previous years.
Step 3: After filling the number correctly click on the retrieve button. On clicking on this button it will display all the details of the property.
Step 4: Ensure the details are correct and verify them before proceeding. In case of any changes such as the build-up area, occupancy factor, etc, tick on the right boxes and only then click on the Proceed button. You will be either directed to form IV in case of no changes and to form V in case of changes.
Step 5: Please check the pre-filled details are correct and then proceed to pay property tax. You can pay the property tax in whole or in installment via online or through offline via challan method.
Step 6: on selecting the online payment option, you can pay the tax either through card or net banking
Step 7: once the payment is completed successfully, it would generate a receipt number within 24 hours on the portal that can be downloaded.
