A scholarship is known to benefit students and an organization called Amar Ujala Foundation comes forward and helps the students in completing their studies by funding them. By this scholarship, 36 students are benefitted among which 2 blind students are also benefitted. The selection process includes a written test followed by a round of interviews as the organization is very particular about the students’ future.

The amount received by the eligible students is up to Rs 50000 which helps greatly in completing their higher secondary education. We shall hereby brief about the eligibility, period of application and the application process.

Eligibility criteria

The students eligible for this scholarship should be students of class 9 to 12 and the selected students should appear for a written exam. Upon clearance of the written exam, the students are scrutinized by interviews conducted by the Amar Ujala organization. The students should have secured 60% and above in their exams. The annual income of the student’s family should not exceed 1.5 lakhs per annum. The benefits are offered to the eligible students as the stipend amount is higher when compared to Government scholarships.

Application period

The eligible students can apply for this scholarship which is usually announced mostly in July/August every year but may vary. Any update on the application period can be found on their website and the applications close by the end of August. It is better to keep track of the application during July/August.

Scholarship amount

The Scholarship amount offered by the Amar Ujala organization varies from Rs 30000 to Rs 50000 depending upon the class the student studies. 38 students are selected in the selection process in which 18 students are from class 9 and 10 and 18 students are from class 11 and 12. The stipend amount for students of class 9 and 10 is Rs 30000 and one blind student is selected from class 9 and 10. Another blind student is selected from class 10 and 11 and receives a stipend amount of Rs 50000 along with 17 other students.

Application process

Applying for the scholarship online through the website and the eligible candidate should register themselves in the portal as a new user. After validation of account, the documents are uploaded in the portal for verification and the application is submitted. The documents required for passport size photo of the applicant, mark sheet and ID proof like Aadhar, school ID or Ration card.

The scholarship benefits the students who wish to pursue their higher secondary studies without any financial hindrance.
